1. What are cookies & local storage
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies — such as localStorage — also store small amounts of data in your browser. We use both to make the site work, to measure usage, and (only with your consent) for advertising. This Cookie Policy explains exactly what we use, why, and how you can control it. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Consent first — nothing non-essential loads without it
By default, all non-essential cookies are disabled. We use Google Consent Mode v2: until you make a choice, analytics and advertising signals are set to denied and no analytics or advertising cookies are written. Only essential storage is active. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you give consent in our cookie banner. BrawlQR.com never uses a cookie wall — refusing cookies does not block access to the site.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary (always active)
Required for the site to function. These do not require consent and store data only on your device — nothing is sent to our servers.
3.2 Analytics — requires your consent
Set only if you accept the Analytics category. Used to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site. No personally identifiable information is collected. Provided by Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), processed under EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
3.3 Advertising & remarketing — requires your consent
Set only if you accept the Advertising category. Used to measure ad performance and to show you relevant ads, including remarketing on YouTube and the Google advertising network via Google Ads, and (if enabled) ads served by Google AdSense. Provided by Google (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd). Cookie names and durations are set by Google and may change; the list below is representative.
4. Consent Mode v2 & the June 15, 2026 Google change
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Your choices map to these signals:
- Analytics →
analytics_storage - Advertising →
ad_storage,ad_user_data,ad_personalization
As of Google's update effective June 15, 2026, the ad_storage consent signal is the single control that governs whether data flows from Google Analytics to Google Ads for advertising purposes. The Google Signals setting no longer controls that flow; it only affects behavioral reporting inside Google Analytics. When you decline the Advertising category, all advertising signals remain denied and no advertising data is shared with Google Ads.
5. Third-party cookies
Analytics and advertising cookies are set by Google, which acts as an independent controller for its own purposes. We do not control how Google subsequently uses this data. Please review Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses cookies in advertising. We also make a single first-visit request to ipapi.co for language detection only — see our Privacy Policy.
6. How to manage or withdraw consent
- On this site: click 🍪 Cookie Settings in the footer of any page to change your Analytics and Advertising choices at any time. Turning a category off immediately stops the related cookies and clears them.
- Opt out of Analytics everywhere: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Manage Google personalized ads: Google My Ad Center.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Note that blocking essential storage may affect site functionality (e.g. language preference).
7. California (CCPA/CPRA) notice
When you consent to the Advertising category, online identifiers may be shared with Google for cross-context behavioral advertising (remarketing). We do not sell your personal information for money. California residents may opt out by turning off (or rejecting) the Advertising category in Cookie Settings — this functions as our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our cookies or the law change. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
